That's an under seen gem in my opinion with great acting all around. I've enjoyed the other two films from Tom McCarthy, but this is his best. Like I've said in other comments, I can't disagree with anyone who puts Return of the King on their list. I know a lot of people who don't like it, including my wife Erin. Even so, it still worked for me. Also, I can't argue with putting Oldboy on top.

I think assessing whether Lost in Translation is overrated is tricky because there are people who love it (some even more than me) and then a good amount of critics of it. I think all of Sophia Coppola's films are this way. This is my favorite by far; I really connected with the characters.

Either way, it's cool to hear a different opinion. Thanks! I hate, hate, hate, hate, hate that movie with a passion. It's one of the most absurdly self-indulgent films ever. I also hate that it gets recognition when a little known film called "Bang Bang You're Dead" (with Ben Foster) did it a year earlier and so much better.

And Oldboy would probably have topped my list. :)Nickhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08092564511948736386noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-28576532960585032982012-10-19T21:18:25.523-05:002012-10-19T21:18:25.523-05:00Max, there's definitely a strong group of movi...Max, there's definitely a strong group of movies.
