I'm not sure it totally worked, though I still have a ways to go.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12351431577484530230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-26786795409032880442016-10-22T02:04:26.124-05:002016-10-22T02:04:26.124-05:00I do like the series as a whole. It's basically a different show from that moment on.Dellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05634519605152190304noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-68009736713854654462016-10-20T22:44:54.719-05:002016-10-20T22:44:54.719-05:00It's worth checking out for sure, especially i...It's worth checking out for sure, especially if you liked the character. I have five episodes left, so I can't say if it finishes strong. Either way, I'll be curious to hear what you think!Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12351431577484530230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-88385323894239750812016-10-20T21:00:33.635-05:002016-10-20T21:00:33.635-05:00Hi Dan! I really like Luke Cage in Jessica Jones so when Twin Cities Film Fest is done I definitely will be bingeing on this series.Ruthhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06313168799746450979noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-4953599614042516732016-10-19T22:48:14.675-05:002016-10-19T22:48:14.675-05:00I agree that Cottonmouth was the most interesting ...I agree that Cottonmouth was the most interesting character, particularly during the first 4-5 episodes. I did sense that he was on the way out as the show began the transition to Diamondback. It's definitely an odd shift when Diamondback arrives, especially their first big fight in the theater. I still like the series overall, but its construction has thrown me for a loop. The camp was definitely heightened in episode 8; it doesn't surprise me that it will continue. That isn't necessarily a bad thing; it's just different. I'm curious to find out where it goes and see if it clicks.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12351431577484530230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-6178107925721546382016-10-19T21:31:27.469-05:002016-10-19T21:31:27.469-05:00I finished the season out over the weekend. For me...I finished the season out over the weekend. For me, the death of Cottonmouth is a huge turning point for both good and bad reasons. Cottonmouth was the most interesting character up until his murder. He feels like a real person who comes from a real place. That place, Harlem, is built so meticulously and as you said in the first part, feels lived in. The show needed a villain like him. Mariah does manage to step into that role, somewhat, because her character is also very interesting and has much room for growth. Even with the bulletproof Cage running around, the show feels grounded in reality. Diamondback threatens that grounding. He too easily fits the mold of comic book villain and the show ups its camp-factor ten-fold whenever he's on the screen. And he's on the screen a lot over the last few episodes. It's an odd complaint to make about a superhero show, I know, but he seems to have leapt off the pages of a decades old comic book while everyone else, Cage included, feels like complex human beings. Looking forward to Part 3.Dellhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05634519605152190304noreply@blogger.com
