For me, that was my favourite period and he's brilliant in Big.Danhttp://www.top10films.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-72878319859985417462012-07-09T16:53:44.277-05:002012-07-09T16:53:44.277-05:00Simon, your point makes sense. For me, that's ...Simon, your point makes sense. For me, that's exactly what draws me to this performance! Hanks is forced to shy away from being charming and play a different type of guy. That isn't easy for him to do, and it worked really well for me. He doesn't overdo it and try to play tough but just pulls within himself, which is definitely the right move for this part.Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12351431577484530230noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-85180650792024768822012-07-09T13:20:39.282-05:002012-07-09T13:20:39.282-05:00Sorry - not gonna agree with you on the ROAD TO PE...Sorry - not gonna agree with you on the ROAD TO PERDITION. I suppose it is a bit straight forward but it's probably my favourite soldier in a film ever. And The Burbs would have to be in my top 5 too. Such a manic, hilarious performance. Great work there, but I agree that it isn’t his top role. For me, it’s all about the desperate, strong, tireless Andrew Beckett. What Hanks did there just floors me. But man, how can I argue with Big? Thanks such a complicated and layered performance; he’s just sensational in it.

Once again, you’ve crafted a fine list here, sir!Alex Withrowhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887018476048271594noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-46355208952269872972012-07-06T09:13:01.521-05:002012-07-06T09:13:01.521-05:00Thanks Fogs!
