Survivor: One World, "One World is Out the Window"

Now this is more like it. After a frustrating episode last week, Survivor returns to form and delivers easily the best episode so far. There are still plenty of annoying players in this group, but there are enough fun moments to outweigh any irritation. Beyond the excellent booting of an arrogant player, we also get the rare chance to see both a reward and immunity challenge attended by Jeff Probst. Brilliant! The last two seasons had Redemption Island, which limited the team challenges to one per week. This episode shows why that twist didn't work and retains an old-school feeling. The women take both challenges and show that the guys might not be such a unified group. Matt's "rooster alliance" goes nowhere, and the resolution leaves plenty of interesting questions for the upcoming episodes. Will Colton retain his power status despite caring little for socializing with his tribe? Are the other strong guys doomed to get kicked out? Will there be a tribal swap? For more details about this week's episode, check out my review for Sound on Sight. While you're there, take a look at all the great television coverage on that fine site.
