The 21 minutes that were cut had nothing to do with anti-americanism and everything to do with the homosexual subplot.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-69190483892282364952014-12-08T16:59:53.513-06:002014-12-08T16:59:53.513-06:00I haven't seen Sorcerer and admit that I didn&...I haven't seen Sorcerer and admit that I didn't realize it was a remake until I started looking into Wages of Fear. I feel like Friedkin is the perfect guy for such a nihilistic story. That's honestly one of the things I love about it, it's so unapologetic. I really enjoy Sorcerer as well. It's been on my list forever, and I didn't realize until recently that it was a remake. I'm surprised by how much I liked Wages of Fear, which is a little silly given all the acclaim. I'd definitely recommend checking out this film, as long as you're okay with a quite a bleak movie. The BW cinematography looks great as well, I might check it out at some point. Interesting about the vague homosexual themes, as I think the Bindspot film I saw had the same issue though perhaps it's far more obvious there than here.ruthhttp://flixchatter.netnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6917634143872972680.post-574150129181586882014-11-24T20:19:32.670-06:002014-11-24T20:19:32.670-06:00Nice job with the review. It's definitely a really slow start, but the last hour is crazy intense. I particularly loved the sequence where they had to turn around on the rickety wooden plank thing. However, I really disliked the ending.
