I'm actually in the process of going through season 2, and I do plan to release the articles in the future in some form. "Trial and Error" works better on a re-watch, especially after seeing the progression for Young during the series. Ferreira's work didn't grab me initially, but it really stands out on a close rewatch. It's less showy than Carlyle or Blue but equally effective. The resolution was obvious, and would take about five minutes to play out. This is still my favorite episode of the series. I love the unique story-telling device and the writer's assumption of the viewers intelligence in not holding our hand to explain the ending, which wasn't that hard to figure out in the first place. I'm also one of those people who enjoyed this show from the start and thought, if anything, that season 2 diminished a little bit. Also, the Kino Webisode explained that they found both timelines' Kinos on the planet, so the current timeline's crew would have found out about Eli's mom's HIV status.

Are you ever going to get around to season 2? I'm curious as to your re-viewing of "Trial and Error", an episode that I thought was a bit of a misfire on first viewing, but on rewatch came to realize that it was one of the best of the series. I really came to appreciate Louis Ferreira's incredible talent and subtle acting skills from that episode.

Greghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05820995578584481542noreply@blogger.com
