It's Time for the 2013 Oscar Contest!

One of my favorite pastimes each winter is my annual Oscar pool, where friends and family try to prove their supremacy to predict the Academy's latest darlings. Last year, I also organized a fun contest through this site for bloggers, podcasters, and other film experts. The 2012 winner was Shane Slater from Film Actually, and he'll be returning to defend his crown again this year. There is a small prize for the winner, but it's really about getting bragging rights over your fellow movie fans. This Oscar pool is a lot more fun than the actual ceremony! My friends and family will also be joining this contest, which is certain to be the most epic battle in the history of the Academy Awards. Don't be left out in the cold!

Joining my 2013 Oscar Contest is easy. Click on this link, which takes you to an easy-to-use online ballot. The categories are weighted by importance, and there are some fun bonus questions at the end. I'll be updating the standings on the night of the show as the awards are presented. Submit your picks by Saturday, February 23 to enter this contest! It should make watching the Oscars (even with Seth MacFarlane) a lot more exciting this year.

    1. No problem, Ruth! I've also lost my edge in Oscar contests lately and will probably be near the bottom. Glad to have you in the pool!
